so it turns out that God actually does listen when you pray! now for real i'm just kidding but i'm not kidding about being surprised every time He answers prayers... faithfully! i am still waiting on quite a few. however He was not slack concerning this one! today we picked up the title of a 2002 nissan with 85k miles on it! how amazing is that?! someone just gave us a car, and not a crappy car, but a better car than the one that decided to bite the dust. we are extremely thankful and stand in awe of a God that is ravished over us...

this last week has been an extremely long week! since getting samuel his crib he has refused to take naps during the day. now when i say refuse i really mean refuse it's not like i put him in there and he fusses for 2 minutes and then i feel bad for him and play instead... i really do mean refuse! i'm at a loss and don't know what to do. usually after about 2 hours i break down and just take him for a walk so he will fall asleep and then lay him in his bed. i am guessing he doesn't like the change of scenery of where he is now laying his head, but at night he goes right down.... probably because he's so exhausted!

eating is going well... he's been on to some other foods, although sweet potatoes are still his favorite and the easiest to make! he's not really into the avocado mixed with banana but if we start with it first he will usually get through it just so he can have his sweet potatoes:) squash is another big hit! oh and get this... he loves prunes!..lol.. most likely because they are sooo sweet... which is why i love them;) actually dates are the best but prunes are cheaper;) i also made this cauliflower soup last week and he chowed that down too!

other big news in samuel land is that he's learning to sit up by himself! he usually lasts about a minute or so. i was reading somewhere that "by six months they are learning to sit up" i got all paranoid because i hadn't really been sitting him up at all. well it turns out that he's catching on pretty quickly and doing great!
