bathroom scene:
D - what happen to all the stuff in here?
M - what stuff?
D - did you install a new faucet?
M - um, no...
D - what happened to it? it looks different!
M - uh, i cleaned it.
D - oh...
ok, lets face it. i'm not a neat freak. i hate cleaning bathrooms. the only thing i'm obsessed with is that there be no hair anywhere, but that only means that i vacuum a lot. scrubbing toilets, elbow greasing the tub, and getting the toothpaste stains out of the sink are just not my cup of tea (or coffee for me). i'm thinking that is what i signed up for when i got married though. i mean lets face it, the man doesn't have time to do it. i mean i can barely get him to eat 2 meals a day let alone scrub a shower! i've decided that it's my job though and when i do it i can either complain that i never thought of this when i thought of marriage or i can do it to the glory of God.
side note: when i was single i just kinda kept up on the bathroom... it's just different when a dude is dirtying it with you:) and also, when i was pregnant dave cleaned it... with his painting mask that ventilates air LOL! it was hilarious, i wish i had a picture!
i long for my husband's approval but more than that i long for God's approval. i know that even if the man doesn't say anything about the floor being scrubbed and looking extra shiny from all the hard core scrubbing i did... that it really is ok, because God saw it all and is pleased that i really am trying.
yay for the little lessons in life!

This brings back memories of living alone before there was Wayne. I never made my bed as I was rarely at my apartment. So why bother? BUT when we got married suddenly everything changed and I had to do this every day (nowadays this is Wayne's job!) So as I walked around the bed to do this despicable task, I would sing,"I make my bed as unto the LORD." Yes, truly the lessons we learn in marriage are not like anything we may have imagined.
Bless you for loving this son of mine!
Molly this is fabulous! I can totally relate and you're absolutely right. It's about the process of becoming better than who we are right now. It might not seem like a big deal that we "keep a neat house" or whatever, but if God has called us to do it, then we need to do it! even if do it sporadically and not very well...we're learning!!! (doing dishes is my learning process!)
